This 1961 Gibson SG Junior marks the first year of Gibson's redesigned double-cutaway solidbody, introduced while the model still carried the Les Paul name before becoming the SG. Finished in Cherry, it features the lightweight mahogany construction and single P-90 pickup that give these early Juniors their direct, lively response and unmistakable character. This example remains in exceptionally fine condition, retaining its original Centralab potentiometers dated to the 20th week of 1961. Clean, original early SG Juniors are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and this guitar offers an excellent opportunity to own one from the model's inaugural year with outstanding preservation throughout.
Includes SKB hard shell case and original chipboard case (nonfunctional condition).
