The Gibson Marauder - a product of Gibson's quest to establish new models in an era dominated by synthesizers, is today a great example of '70s Cool. The basic single-cut body shape is the tried-and-true Les Paul, but the pickups - a single-coil rail and a humbucker - were newly designed by Bill Lawrence. The pickguard gave the guitar a visual flair that belied such Spartan - read "affordable" - design features as lack of binding, bolt-on neck and black paint logo. Gibson introduced the Marauder in 1975, and it barely made it out of the decade before being discontinued.
This is example is in great playable condition with a replaced truss rod cover, volume pot, and bridge ground wire as well as a new nut and a small piece of wood grafted on the back to repair a chip. It plays great with very little fret wear!
Includes a non original SKB hard case.
