A Black Beauty from 1959, this Gibson is in exceptional condition. It has very limited repairs and sits with its original PAF, gold-plated pickups. The Ebony finish is in great condition with limited wear and chipping. The Les Paul Custom is one of the most iconic guitars to ever hit the market, the three pickup configuration is every rockers dream, because the only thing better than a pair of PAF's is a third PAF. This Black Beauty has the classic out of phase middle position offering a unique tonal coloring to the stage and the studio. This guitar has been cased for a good portion of its life and shows no signs of neglect. There are two replaced screws in the control plate for the volume and tone controls and the pickup selector switch tip is a replica. The instrument has a replaced jack and jack plate, replaced tremolo spring and arm retainer and some light case reaction on the back of the neck near the 12th fret where the neck rest contacts the guitar.

We are always excited to have special instruments. The factory Bigsby is incredible and even furthers the tonal and playing range of the guitar. All gold hardware distinguishes this guitar and the wear through to the base nickel pickup covers shows that this is a players guitar and adds to the mojo. Guitars always present us with a story, and a rare instrument like this one tells an incredible tale of Gibson at the height of their Les Paul craftsmanship along with the many decades since. Countless players and collectors have enjoyed this guitar and it is without a doubt the center of many conversations. It is impressive to say the least and it is an honor to have it in the shop.
