Description

The Zoot Suit SG is one of Gibson’s more unusual takes on the classic SG, built with laminated and dyed Birch strips for both the body and neck. This 2009 example has a Black finish that lets the layered construction remain part of the visual character, along with an Ebony fingerboard. A pair of uncovered humbuckers with transparent bobbins gives it plenty of Gibson punch, while Grover tuners and nickel hardware round out the straightforward setup. It’s a distinctive late-2000s SG that takes the familiar Gibson formula in a decidedly different direction.
