A very clean and great sounding Les Paul Custom that delivers the punch, clarity, and sustain these are known for. The finish is all original and presents beautifully, giving it a sharp, well-preserved look. It remains original throughout with the exception of a replaced volume pot for the neck pickup and a skillfully executed re-fret that provides smooth, effortless playability. The neck has a comfortable feel and the guitar responds easily with excellent articulation across the board.
As with early Les Paul Standards, these 1953 to early 1954 Customs were produced without serial numbers, so this example features a distributor inventory stamp on the top of the headstock instead; an interesting period detail used for dealer stock identification. Overall an excellent example and an valuable part of Gibson history.
Includes its original hard shell case.
