If you're looking for an early player-grade Les Paul Custom, this 1953 (short headstock) example is a great candidate. It has the unique short LP Custom headstock that was only used in 1953. It's been through the wringer, but remains an excellent player with warm, vintage tone. The most notable repairs and modifications include a refret, total black refinish, headstock repair and re-shape, and fully replaced electronics.
