When the Gibson Hummingbird was introduced in 1960, it was the second most expensive acoustic model that the brand offered. The more expensive a guitar was, usually the more intricate the design elements. The Hummingbird, had lacquer floral/ humming birds motif painted onto the pickguard. This was also the first square shouldered design that Gibson offered that could cover similar ground to the Martin offering. This particular example is in wonderful condition with replacement tuners (originals in case), replacement bridge pins, sharpie of the serial number written inside, and a deceivingly over-sprayed back that has some plastic strap burn. The sound is iconically Tom Petty, and it's aesthetically a show stopper.
Comes with vintage hardshell case.
