The Gibson GA-5 is a charming small-format, single-ended design, similar in spirit to the Fender Champ. This mid-’50s model features the "Les Paul Junior" moniker, which is a nice touch. The amp presents well for its age, showing only light signs of previous wear. Someone has added an internal jack that allows the amp to be run into an external speaker.
Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced. The original wax coupling caps have also been swapped out, along with the power resistors—which is common for these amps. Please see the circuit photos for further details.
It should be noted the original handle hardware can exhibit rattling during use.
