Early 1962 factory stoptail, cherry finished Gibson ES-335. This dot neck is in good condition. It has a slightly larger neck than most '61 models but retains the dot inlay markers. A little later in '62 Gibson would start using block inlays for neck markers. As mentioned, this guitar is a factory stoptail with no evidence of any other sort of tailpiece on it. The guitar is refretted and the nut was replaced. The guitar is an incredible player. The pickups sound absolutely perfect. Both pickups retain their PAF stickers and their output is noted in the specs. The covers on the pickups are replacements. The wiring harness has been changed with an era correct set of pots, caps and wires. The bridge has been changed (original no-wire ABR-1 bridge in case) to a TonePros ABR-1 replica with four metal saddles for the low E through G strings. The B and high E have nylon saddles. The tailpiece is a junior tailpiece with the adjustment screws removed. At some point the neck slightly separated from the body at the heel. This was addressed and the area around the glue joint was touched up. We inspected the neck tenon and it's a solid factory connection so the separation was a minor thing. The guitar has period correct single line/double ring Kluson tuners. There is evidence of another type of tuner being on the guitar and some point. The guitar is very resonant and a joy to play as well. One of the best sounding 335s we've had come through here in years. It comes in the original black hardshell case with gold lining.
