Fender's answer to the country music scene was the Telecaster; at least that's how history unfolded here in Nashville with artists like Waylon Jennings and Carl Perkins. But the Telecaster was also the answer to Jimmy Page's recording sound. And Keith Richards. And Jeff Beck. Its matrix of simplicity/versatility is unfounded; that's why it's legendary. 1962, when this example was made, was a prime year for Pre-CBS Fender guitars and boast some of the most famous neck profiles. Both the body and neck of this guitar have been refinished, however in nitro lacquer that has aged and checked with time. Surprisingly, apart from the finish, this guitar is mostly original and was played in its configuration for many many years to earn the oiled coloration to the back of the neck. Internally, the neck pickup was swapped for a "Mare" pickup and some wires have been lengthened, as well as capacitor replaced. This guitar seems to have all the charm that brought country and rock legends to it in the 60s and 70s.
Comes with original Brown tolex case.
