Introduced by Fender in 1965, Ocean Turquoise Metallic was one of the company's new custom colors of the era, making first-year examples especially noteworthy. This 1965 Stratocaster pairs that uncommon finish with one of the most transitional periods in Fender history, combining features that bridge the company's pre-CBS roots and its first year under new ownership. The metallic finish has a character all its own, often developing subtle shifts in hue over time that give each surviving example an individual appearance. Beyond its rarity, this guitar captures an important moment in the Stratocaster's evolution. This guitar has an Indian rosewood fretboard with the larger original frets, and all original parts with tasty hardware patina. A refret could improve its playability, but for the sake of originality, we are leaving this beauty untouched.

Includes OHSC with hang tag, bridge cover, and tremolo arm.
