These smaller rocker guitars got played hard, and this one had a bit of a factory journey early in its life that shows how special the guitar was to the owner, despite the budget price point. All parts on the guitar date to 1959, but in 1964/65/66 the guitar entered the Fender factory system for a nitro refinish (marked R&R in the inner cavity). The body's 3-tone sunburst is unique to this time frame, and makes this Music Master one of the only ones to have it from the factory. At a later period, likely in the 1970s, the entire guitar (yes, including the back of the neck) was painted with black latex paint; 90% of it was sanded/washed off (some still hangs around the tuners and the body chips). The next owner might want to remove the remainder of the black paint, but for now, it tells a story. The pickup is killer and reads at 6.8k; it also has its original wiring and pots. It's ready for more garage rock!
Comes with original gold lined case.
