In 1967 Fender almost stopped making Teles and Esquires. An Esquire from 1967 is a rare thing, a 67 Custom Esquire is a very rare thing. This guitar has a great feeling neck and plays well. It's lightweight at 6.6 pounds and balances well on a strap. The pickup sounds great and the guitar retains it's "Esquire" wiring. Part of that lightweight feeling might be the large routes under the pickguard. It's been routed for a humbucker in the neck position. Between the neck route and the regular bridge pickup route is another very large, rather crudely done, route. Luckily the guard hides all this Reptile dentistry and you can't see it. The guitar comes in its original black hard case.
