This 2006 Fender AVRI ’52 Telecaster captures the early blackguard vibe with a classic Blonde finish over an ash body. The neck has an excellent ’50s carve with rolled shoulders and a lightly tinted gloss that’s settled in nicely. Pickups are clear and punchy, with plenty of snap and midrange bite, true to the early Tele sound. It’s a straightforward, well-executed reissue with the right weight and feel. A solid example from the American Vintage line before the shift to the Pure Vintage series.
