This guitar has already had a journey, despite a short life; but you don't get the look without a little extra attention. This Strat was originally built in 1997 and finished by the Custom Shop in August '99, under the attention of Mike Eldred. At some point later in the Fender process, it seems to have went back for a Sherwood Green finish overspray to the body with incredible checking/relicing process applied; it could be described as a "one off" by the Fender Custom Shop. This paint appears to be more authentic to what was used in the 1960s than what was used in 1999 (hence a potential later date theory). The body received color stamp codes for both sunburst and sherwood green (green stamp being placed above the sunburst). The guitar now exists with what appear to be Texas Special Pickups; the 1999 originals are not included. The overall look of this guitar is incredible and plays well thanks to a refret with 6105 Dunlop frets. To reiterate, the finish checking on this guitar and Birdseye maple figuring to the neck is second to none!

Comes with tweed case and COA from Aug '99 build
