This is a rare piece from the mid-60s, during the period when Vox began experimenting with adding reverb to their circuits. Unfortunately, the reverb tank in this unit failed, and since there’s no direct replacement without modification, the reverb has been disabled. Many consider this a blessing in disguise, as the original reverb circuit is widely regarded as detrimental to the overall sound quality.
Otherwise, this is an excellent AC30 head and cabinet, featuring the classic Top Boost circuit. The cabinet is loaded with Celestion T1088 Silver Bell speakers, which sound incredible. The transformers are original Albions. Internally, the amp remains mostly original, with only two or three coupling caps replaced. Please refer to the circuit photos for further details. Shipping is available on this amp, but will incur extra charges, as the head and cabinet will ship separately.
Despite being fully functional the buyer should note this amp has long expired electrolytic capacitors. Should someone need prolonged or gigging use from this piece then servicing would be advised (cap job, etc).
