This 1955 D-28 carries the character of an instrument well-traveled and well-cared for over the decades. It received a factory re-top in the 1970s, along with a replacement large maple bridge plate. The bridge was shaved, and it has new saddle and pins. The pickguard and nut have also been replaced, and the body shows a full overspray that’s aged evenly over time. Beneath the updates, the Brazilian rosewood back and sides retain the resonance and presence that define the model. A fine example of a mid-century D-28 with a long, working history and a strong, seasoned voice.
Includes vintage hard shell case.
