The bluegrass guitar of choice, a vintage herringbone Martin D-28 provides power and articulation. This 1945 example is fresh out of a neck reset that corrected pitch and intonation and received a replica ebony bridge made in house. At one point in its life, likely many years ago, the top was removed and rebraced with scalloped x-bracing that sits a tad more forward than the original rear shifted design. To aid in this conversion, the guitar was refinished, but it has had many years on its belt as evident by the nitro checking. We love the look and sound of this old guitar; it reminds us why the D-28 is the king of flat-tops.
