The f-hole C-2 is one of C. F. Martin & Co.'s more unique and often underappreciated guitars. It reflects the company's ambitious yet ultimately unsuccessful effort to compete with Gibson and Epiphone in the swing-era archtop market. Introduced in 1931, the C-series marked Martin's first production archtop guitars, blending elements of flat-top and archtop designs. The f-hole variant of the C-2 was produced from 1934 until the late 1930s.

This particular 1935 example has undergone several key repairs to restore its playability and ensure it’s ready for a new chapter. These include a replaced tuner, a new nut, a refret, a neck reset, a new bridge and tailpiece, a repaired center seam top crack, multiple repaired and cleated back cracks, body overspray, and a repaired crack near the end block.

Thanks to these expert restorations, this guitar plays beautifully and is ready for any player or collector. It comes with a 1970s Martin hardshell case.
