Description
This 1963 Gibson SG Special is a wonderfully played-in example with plenty of honest character and a distinctly vintage feel. Finished in Cherry, the guitar shows years of use throughout, with dings, scrapes, finish wear, and beautiful natural checking that give it an unmistakable old-guitar look. The neck has developed a comfortable worn-in feel with noticeable finish fade, while the previous headstock and heel repairs are visible but stable. The original tremolo arm has been removed, leaving visible mounting holes, and the bridge has been replaced with new bridge studs; the original studs are included in the case. The pickguard shows some warping consistent with age. Importantly, this SG has been professionally refretted and given a complete setup by the CVG repair team, and it plays and feels fantastic. A genuine vintage SG with plenty of history, honest wear, and the kind of played-in character that can only come from decades of use.
