With a deeper body, the Nick Lucas model is a guitar with a full bass range, not often found in a small-bodied guitar. It was first introduced in 1927 and was the first artist endorsed model offered by Gibson. The model went through an array of changes from 1927 until it was discontinued in '38, including changes to its shape and wood combinations. This '28 features the same body shape as the L-1s of the era with a 12-fret neck joint but with a deeper body depth. The guitar has Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides. The guitar is in nice playing condition with the original finish having been buffed to a shine. There are some finish imperfections/matting on the bottom from the lacquer reacting with something the guitar sat on for a long time, but no other damage to note, just some small scuffs and dings throughout to be expected on a nearly 100 year old guitar. It plays and sounds great! Includes a non original chipboard case.
