This 2025 Gibson Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged 1942 LG-2 in Sunburst is a careful recreation of an early wartime slope-shoulder design, built with a focus on light construction and a responsive feel. It features a compact body with a warm, dry tonal character, supported by a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The Ultra Light Aged treatment introduces subtle checking and light wear, giving the instrument a gently broken-in appearance without heavy distressing. This example was ordered without the banner headstock decal, offering a cleaner, more understated look at the headstock. It has a direct, woody voice with clear fundamentals and a controlled low end, staying balanced across a range of playing dynamics.
