Designed with direct input from Les Paul himself, the Gibson Les Paul Recording stands as one of the company’s most experimental solidbody designs. Though it never achieved the mainstream success of the Les Paul Standard or SG, it was reportedly Les Paul’s own preferred instrument. Built for versatility and studio use, it features a low-impedance output for running straight into a console, along with individual phase switches for each pickup and coil-tap functionality for expanded tonal options. This example shows honest history with a refret, a repaired headstock, and a small plastic reinforcement added at the output jack area where a crack developed in the control plate.
