A great playing 17" archtop. The Gibson L-7 was produced between '34 and '56 and featured a spruce top over a maple back and sides. This 1947 example showcases a wonderful figured Maple back and sides and a beautiful sunburst finish. This example has undergone some changes to give it a new lease on life: two re-glued open seams (side/back at tailpin and top/side upper bout near neck heel treble side), touch-up on top at treble side upper bout, 60's replacement Kluson tuners, refret, new nut, replacement pickguard, and a replaced bridge. Cosmetically, this guitar shows signs of honest wear that is to be expected of an instrument its age. At some point during its life someone etched some letters and numbers into the finish on the back of the body near the lower bout on the bass side, which just adds to the mojo of this incredible instrument.

Period correct HSC included.
