1962 Gibson Johnny Smith in Sunburst, in great shape for its age. It shows the typical signs of honest aging you’d expect from an early-’60s archtop, but overall it’s in very appealing aesthetic condition and excellent playing condition.
The neck is very comfortable with incredible action, making it feel effortless up and down the fingerboard. Tonally, it has that awesome hollowbody voice—articulate, airy, and percussive, perfect for jazz and clean, nuanced playing. The pots and jack were replaced in the ’70s, but the pickup remains original, keeping the core voice of the guitar intact.
A classy, inspiring example of an early-’60s Johnny Smith that’s ready to be played. Comes with the OHSC.
