The first Doc Watson model was inspired by his love for a Gallagher G-50, which he played for six years after discovering it at a festival. Despite a repaired crack, Doc valued the guitar’s rich tone over its blemish, leading to a unique agreement where he could play it indefinitely. When he was ready for a new guitar, Gallagher customized it with a Les Paul-style neck to match his playing comfort. The resulting Doc Watson models feature mahogany back and sides, Sitka spruce tops, and a signature 1 3/4” neck with jumbo frets.
This example is in good condition with minor wear. There is some binding separation on the treble side fingerboard extension and spots of finish wear, but overall remains solid.
Includes black hard shell case.
