When Ken Fischer passed in 2006, the Trainwreck legacy was carried on by his longtime assistant, John Mark. This transition was particularly well executed, as they are still built in the same shop, using the same parts/transformers, with the same build quality. This particular amp was well kept and looks practically new.
While most Express models feature a more stripped-down design, this one includes a mid control and a Master Volume—making it much easier to dial in the perfect output level. Like most Trainwreck amps, there’s plenty of gain on tap for rich overdrive, but the Gain control on this Express also offers a surprisingly versatile range, from clean tones to edge-of-breakup textures.
