The Soldano Hot Rod 25 was introduced in 2012 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Soldano Custom Amplification, with only 255 examples produced. This particular amp is #92 of the run and is hand-signed by Mike Soldano himself. The preamp is based around the legendary 100-watt SLO, delivering that unmistakable Soldano gain and articulation in a much more manageable format.
Despite the name, the Hot Rod 25 has considerably more power on tap than you might expect, with Mike Soldano stating that actual output is closer to 40 watts. The power section utilizes a pair of 5881s along with a filter choke, giving it some of the punch and authority typically associated with much larger amplifiers. Both the amp and cabinet are both in fabulous condition, with minimal signs of previous wear.
Overall, this is a fantastic limited-production Soldano that captures much of the SLO experience in a smaller package, with the hand-signed chassis being a nice bonus!
