This 2010 Ribbecke Testadura blends archtop tradition with contemporary carved-electric design in a way that feels distinctly individual to Tom Ribbecke’s work. Built with a carved Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides, the guitar carries some of the openness and acoustic character associated with high-end archtops while remaining firmly rooted in solidbody electric territory. Ribbecke’s instruments have long occupied a unique space among boutique American builders, with the Testadura in particular becoming one of his more recognizable modern designs thanks to its sculpted body contours and refined construction.
A mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard and comfortable “D” profile pairs with custom-built Seymour Duncan pickups that offer a balanced, articulate response with a slightly airy upper register. At 6.6 lbs, the guitar remains notably lightweight, adding to the lively feel of the instrument overall. The subtle sunburst finish highlights the carved top without overwhelming the organic shape of the body. Cosmetically, it remains in excellent condition with only light player wear to note.
Includes Cedar Creek hard shell case.
