This ODE "Ode C" from the 1980s is one of the very last banjos to come out of the original Ode shop. Baldwin wound down production around 1980, so you're looking at a genuine tail-end example from the end of an era before the brand went dark for decades (Ode wasn't revived again until 2021). It carries all the hallmarks that made Style C banjos bluegrass favorites: a flathead tone ring for big, cutting volume, an ebony fingerboard with fancy pearl inlay work, and planetary tuners with a geared 5th string for rock-solid tuning stability. In the natural finish, the walnut/mahogany grain really shows, and players who've owned these since the '60s and '70s consistently describe the tone as "monster" and "outstanding." It's a rare, late-production piece of real banjo history; great tone and playability at a fraction of what a comparable vintage Gibson would run.

Includes HSC.
