The Music Man Sabre II stands apart from many late-'70s solidbody designs by blending Leo Fender's familiar bolt-on construction with a set of active electronics that offered an unusually broad range of tones for the time. Although the original Sabre II was introduced in 1978, examples assembled and sold into the late 1980s from remaining parts are an interesting part of the model's history. Its ash body, dual humbuckers, onboard preamp, and phase switching give it a voice that moves comfortably from clear, articulate sounds to thicker, more aggressive textures without losing definition. The 7.5" radius neck sets the Sabre II apart from the Sabre I, giving it a distinctly vintage feel while preserving the model's forward-thinking electronics. Cosmetically, it remains in good condition, with a large spot of buckle rash on the back of the bass.

Includes vintage hard shell case.
