McClanahan Trinity F-5 2023, Sunburst

This McClanahan Trinity F-5 in Sunburst delivers a rich, woody tone with a warm, rounded low end, clear trebles, and the punchy chop and projection bluegrass players look for. Its responsive voice brings out the nuances of every note, whether playing delicate melodies, intricate cross-picking, or driving rhythm. The feel is lively and expressive, rewarding a light touch while standing up to an aggressive attack. Built in 2017, this mandolin was modified by the builder in 2023, with the peghead face and wings replaced and the peghead reshaped into a traditional F-5 scroll. It remains in good condition, with minor dings and scratches throughout. The original peghead face and wings are included in the case. Its striking sunburst finish and classic F-5 styling give it a timeless bluegrass look.
