Texas luthier Stephen Marchione has an incredibly broad and encompassing approach to his craft. Rather than focusing all of his energy on just acoustics or electrics, he tackles steel-string acoustic, classical, archtop, semi-hollow, and even violin building as well. Elements of each discipline bleed into the others, creating a cohesive style defined by clean precision and bold designs. Stephen's lutherie philosophy is all about longevity and what he calls "archival building." He crafts his guitars to last and develop with the player over the years, and that careful attention is apparent in every detail of this distinctive OMC.
This OMC boasts a silky Swiss spruce top with a bit of bearclaw, and we love to see Madagascar rosewood on a luthier-built guitar. So often overlooked by boutique buyers, it offers excellent balance and warmth, and Stephen has used it to great effect. Tonally, this OMC has a pleasing focus and a warm, thumpy bass and bright, sweet highs. It feels perfect for percussive, driving fingerpicking blues (and whatever else you want to throw at it!).
Cosmetically, it shows moderate signs of wear, but remains in excellent overall condition. Comes with the original Ameritage hardshell case.
