This 1984 Jackson Dinky Custom Pre-Production is a fascinating early example of Jackson developing what would become the Dinky platform. Finished in Red Metallic, it combines the more compact Dinky body shape and model-specific appointments with neck-through construction like a Soloist, creating an unusual blend of the two designs. Jackson’s ledger identifies the instrument as a “D. Strat,” an early reference to the Dinky concept, and its custom specifications distinguish it from later production models. As a pre-production instrument from this formative period in Jackson’s history, it offers a rare look at the evolution of the company’s designs.
