Instrument: Archtop Guitars
Brand: Iucci
Model: 3 Octave
Finish: Sunburst
SKU: GA011
Original Finish: No
All Original Parts: No
Handedness: Right
Made In Year: 1930 - 1939
Michael Iucci of New York is somewhat obscure as a banjo maker, more so as a mandolin maker, and completely unknown as a guitar maker. We wish we could have seen this guitar in its original form, before someone gave it a DIY sunburst treatment, and someone else added a cutaway (we presume someone else because the quality of the work is a little better). The bridge is unique and easily adjustable, thanks to the huge wheels. Iucci's patented three-fingered In-Tune tailpiece incorporates the same string-length theory as Epiphone's Frequensator and Gretsch's stairstep, i.e. longer length for bass strings, shorter for treble strings, but each rod on the Iucci is topped by a pair of cool fine-tuners. The body is 18 3/16" wide and of laminated Maple. And best of all, this guitar has a wonderfully rich sound. Perfect for the collector who thought he had everything. In a Hard Case
