Hofner Violin Bass 1960's, Sunburst

The Hofner Violin Bass has one of the most recognizable silhouettes in the world of vintage basses, pairing a compact hollow body with a short 30" scale. This 1960s example has the familiar Sunburst finish over a Spruce top and Maple back and sides, with the lightweight construction. The neck pickup has been rewound, the bridge has been shaved, and the tuners have been replaced. Checking is present throughout, adding to the well-aged appearance of the instrument. It’s a classic example of the quirky German-made basses that became an important part of the ’60s musical landscape.
