After almost 20 years of building the Headstrong Royal Reverb, a replica of the famed 1964 Deluxe Reverb, the new Royal Reverb S, is here! Well known for building spot-on Fender-style amps, Headstrong Amps has worked with Carter Vintage Guitars to offer a slightly modded version of this classic circuit Carter Vintage Guitar version of the Royal Reverb S came about after Headstrong and the Carter staff discussed changes that could be done to a stock Deluxe Reverb…true to all of their vintage roots, most agreed that the amp is perfect as is, but after a few ideas came up, it was decided that some basic changes to channel 1 could be accomplished without sacrificing any of the classic channel 2 shimmer!
The Carter Vintage Guitars version of the Royal Reverb S will be a one off run of The First 15 Royal Reverb S amps to leave the Headstrong shop…after these 15, this exact version is gone and the wait list for the production model begins!
The changes:
-Channel 1 is still is a Deluxe Reverb at heart, but with a few changes to the voltage and midrange EQ in this preamp, you can hear a little more mid range
-Added reverb and tremolo available on both channels of the amp
-Channel 2 has a more useable range on the reverb control.
What’s the same:
Still powered by 2-6V6 power tubes for that 22 watt tone you’d expect, same finger join pine cabinet, same scooped mids on Channel 2
Paired with a 12” Alessandro Alnico GA-SC59, vintage tone is on demand!
NOTE: Some of these amps are still in production. Contact our sales team to confirm the hands-in timeline.
