Those familiar with Supro and Valco counterparts know these amps for their fantastic, crunchy tones. This is a rare and somewhat mysterious version of the 6151, notable for its 10" speaker (instead of the usual 8") and its dual power-tube, single-ended design—similar in concept to a Gibson GA-8. It also has one octal preamp tube, and one 9-pin, which is a very unique combination.
The straightforward volume-and-tone layout really shines when you crank the volume, rewarding you with rich, raw character. The front grill cloth appears to have been replaced, and the speaker was reconed in 1995, along with the power cord. Otherwise, the amp remains original.
