Description

Australian master luthier Steve Gilchrist is renowned for his Loar inspired Mandolins; in many opinions, they are unrivaled in craftsmanship. With a similar approach to achieving maximum acoustic volume and tone, Gilchrist has produced a handful (~60) guitars with nods to the legendary Gibson L5 maker. This particular cutaway, Model 16, example is in a gorgeous natural blonde varnish that highlights its red spruce top and curly flamed maple body. Fine chevron inlay details grace dark ebony. Condition wise? Only minor playwear scratches can be found on the pickguard of this work of art.
