Gibson Southern Jumbo 1955, Sunburst

Gibson acoustics have a tone that is time-tested and true to the core of how we hear music today. The Gibson Southern Jumbo is a distinct imprint in the line of Gibson acoustics. The beautiful inlays and sunburst finish give the guitar an elegance that is perfectly overpowered by performance. Some of the greatest Gibsons to grace the hands of performers and songwriters come from the mold of the Southern Jumbo. This particular instrument is in good condition and in excellent working order. The tonal characteristics of this guitar are rich and forward. A combination of spruce and mahogany are known to give the instrument a snap and focused sound. This combination of woods is perfect for sitting out in a mix when playing with other musicians as well as holding its own accompanying a singer. This Southern Jumbo has a replaced bridge that was shaved down. Other repairs include a refret, neck set, added strap button, repaired bridge plate, replaced nut, bent D-string tuner and replaced tuner buttons. There is also a repaired crunch/crack on the side of the lower bout on the treble side. This instrument is in stable and playable condition with a fresh setup.
