The Gibson LG-2 has long been touted for its simplistic beauty and dry, mid-punchy tone. This example from 1950 comes to us with 75 years of life under its strings. Spend just a few minutes strumming this guitar and try not to fall in love. It's too easy to play, with buttery action (it recently underwent a neck reset by our in-house repair team), and features a perfectly carved neck that doesn't have the baseball bat feel likes it 40s counterparts. Aside from the neck reset, this guitar has been refretted, a replacement ebony bridge has recently been re-glued (new bone saddle and pins as well) and several braces inside were re-glued. The back center seam has been re-glued and properly leveled, and one of the original back strips has been removed. Additionally, there is a 1/3" hole drilled in the bottom treble side about 4" away from the end pin, presumably from a previously installed pickup (and ready for its new owner to install a pickup if they so choose). The tuners are modern replacements as well that have been professionally aged to match the rest of the guitar.
After these tasteful and typical repairs, this LG-2 is a truly remarkable guitar with warm, subdued tone - a perfect songwriter's companion.
Includes Travelite hybrid case.
