The Gibson LG-2 is a standard among songwriters, folk singers and guitarists of nearly any genre. Coined for a woody sound that projects classic Gibson tone, the LG-2 is the perfect companion as a couch guitar or the main one on stage. This example thrives from a number of repairs that leave it stable and sounding exceptional. Thankfully none of the repairs neglected tone and all work together to preserve this instrument for players to come. Repairs and improvements include: Neck reset, refret, b string crack repaired, ~12 cracks in top glued (several glued open), 2 fingerboard extension cracks repaired, 2 1-inch cracks on lower treble bout rim, 1 glued crack on lower bass bout rim, full length glued crack on back, 1 8-inch crack glued on lower bass bout of back, 3-inch crack on lower treble bout of back repaired, 1-inch crack bass waist on back, fingerboard planed, replaced bridge and bridge plate, new saddle, new nut, replaced truss rod cover, note taped to back, finish touch-up on cracks. This guitar is well suited for the player looking for resonance. We love to see instruments like this that are preserved out of love and appreciation. No matter the cost, this guitar was kept in excellent playing order from the list of repairs mentioned above.
