Boxy blues machines, vintage Gibson LG-1s offer incredible value in a very comfortable size. These guitars feature the classic quality wood formula: a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Although made alongside higher-end models, the LG-1s were kept affordable by their ladder brace construction, in contrast to the more expensive X-braced LG-2 and LG-3 models. This particular example shows extensive wear from years of use and has undergone several changes: a neck reset, replaced tuners (originals included in the case), shimmed nut, replaced bridge, replaced saddle, replaced bridge pins, and a glued side crack on the treble side lower bout. Despite these modifications, the structural integrity of this guitar remains intact. It plays wonderfully with low action and boasts a warm, rich, woody tone.HSC included.
