In 1958, Gibson answered the market's desire for a budget acoustic, the LG-O; not too dissimilar to its Kalamazoo line in the 1930s and Martin's 15 & 17 series. For affordability, these guitars were braced with a ladder configuration. While it's not the case in 2023, making the top a solid Honduran mahogany, was also a cost effective measure. The result is a lovely sounding tone, similar to what Kenneth Pattengale of the Milk Carton Kids gets. This is LG-O is a first year example and has the rectangular Brazilian Rosewood bridge, which has been reglued.
