This 1956 Gibson Les Paul is in excellent condition with very little in the way of playing wear; just a bit of very cool looking checking to give it the vintage patina it rightly deserves. The gold is still quite vibrant and shows the slightest greening that happens with time, exposure to the elements and wear. The neck's absolutely perfect. It's a big neck but it doesn't feel large in hand due to the artful way its been asymmetrically carved. This guitar is a joy to play even with the original small frets, it's effortless. Both P-90s sound like reference examples, it has a big sound with tone for days in all three switch positions. It also doesn't hurt that it's nice and lightweight at 8.4 pounds. This one's got it all! The original brown Lifton case is in beautiful shape as well. On this guitar, the switch tip is a modern replacement, the tuners are reproductions (Original Kluson tuners are in case with new tuner buttons). At some point the guitar had been drilled for a larger jack plate. Those holes have been filled, touched up and the original jack plate is in place. Inside the case you'll find the original strap supplied with the guitar when it was new, the original tuners, and the original strap buttons with their screws.
