There are approximately 1400 original Les Paul "Burst"s in existence, and they regularly retail upwards of $300k. A logical response to supply and demand, Gibson makes faithful reproductions of these legendary solid body guitars of 1958,1959 and 1960. Each year represents different specs common to the majority of original examples. In the case of this guitar, a 1959 Reissue, the neck profile is considered the pinnacle for Gibson. This particular Gibson 1959 Reissue guitar was not only a special ordered Wildwood Guitar (with top choice maple selection), but underwent an overhaul by the "Historic Makeovers" team to a nitro lacquer that checks well (Cherry in shade) and relic'ed it. What's more, they put a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard on it. It features a 3rd Power Mag-Frag Praxis pickup in the neck position and an Arcane Triple Clone bridge pickup in the bridge. All in all, a killer playing, accessible, holy grail guitar with a tasteful construction.
