Gibson first launched their small-bodied L series guitars in the early 20th century as egg-shaped archtops before they evolved into flattop, square-bottomed guitars by 1930. This 1928 model sits in the middle with a flattop and that egg-shaped lower bout! There's some repair history to note, including a neck reset, refret, replaced bridge and bridge plate, two added finger braces, repaired top and back cracks, and a shimmed nut. The finish has also been buffed and polished. All in all, this guitar is ready to go, sounding and playing just fabulously! As much as blues fingerpickers are going to love this one, it handles a pick well, too, delivering up that mid-heavy, woody direct tone we love Gibsons for. As CVE's Noah says, this one is a recording dream!
Comes with a non-original hardshell case.
