The very definition of warm, woody, and thunderous, this is one of those Gibsons that'll make a devotee out of you in one strum! Launched in 1942, J-45 Banners from this era were built during a time of wartime shortages and resulting spec variations, but they're well-loved for being among the best Gibson ever made. This '43 is pretty standard, sporting mahogany back and sides and a spruce top, with a 'baseball bat' mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge.

Maintenance work and mods include a neck reset, refret, filled fingerboard divots, replaced nut and saddle, replaced tuners, added strap button, and finish touch up on heel. As you might guess from the level of wear and tear on this old workhorse, repairs include some cleated top cracks, repaired rim crunch at treble side lower bout, several cleated back cracks, and replaced bridge plate. All told, it's set up and ready to play, and sounds great no matter what you throw at it. Comes in an older hardshell case.
