Gibson introduced the Hummingbird in 1960 as their first square-shouldered dreadnought, featuring the now-iconic pickguard design. It quickly became a favorite among country and rock musicians, most notably used by Keith Richards throughout the Rolling Stones' catalog. This particular early '70s model has been well-worn from decades of use and has undergone several modifications and repairs to maintain its playability for years to come. These include a neck reset, an added strap pin on the neck block, two holes from a previous strap pin at the neck block, a glued top crack along the treble side fingerboard extension, a glued 13" side crack on the bass side, a re-glued and shaved bridge, a No-Jak end pin installation, and a DeArmond pickup included in the case. This guitar offers smooth playability with low action, delivering a warm and balanced tone.
60's green plush-lined HSC included.
