The through neck construction, banjo tuners, minihumbuckers and more have always made the Gibson Firebird a guitar that stands alone from the rest. This swanky 1964 Firebird began its existence as a Firebird I, but at one point was converted to a Firebird III. '64 Gibsons are known for their super comfortable necks and this one is no exception. Now onto the mods and repairs... the original single bridge pickup was moved to a routed neck cavity and the bridge was replaced with a DiMarzio Deluxe Mini Humbucker. The pots have been replaced with modern CTS pots, and a pickup selector was added. The Brazilian Rosewood board has been refretted, and although replacement tuners were installed, the originals have been put back into place with some of the footprint of the replacements still lingering. The pickguard is missing a few screws, and a few have been replaced. A new nut has been installed and a Bigsby was previously installed, but the holes were plugged below the bridge.
Enjoy this wonderful Firebird I/III with killer top end and midrange presence and stupendous playability. Includes non original Gibson HSC.
